I like the use of the medium too. As for constructive crits, I think maybe a more pronounced shadow under the head could give it a more 3D look. But it's still a great piece!

I enjoy the style of the fox, the fur is very realistic, the eyes and ears are also very realistic. The ears have a huge amount of detail, almost making them the focus.
I feel that the holly bough contrasts the fox altogether too much, the bright green/red and also the placement takes away from the main focus of the drawing (the fox). The bough and the snow are also a bit of a different style, which contrasts the realism of the fox. I also feel like the fur around the eyes/nose could have more detail, as the ears do, to give them more of a focus point.
Overall I enjoy the piece, the fox is done well, the technique is very well done, the fur is realistic and the ears and eyes are amazing. The holly bough takes away from the main point of the drawing, but I feel like it still fits the theme, so it is not completely out of place in the piece. Nice work on the fur!
